A traditional grocery store selling fruit, vegetables, flowers and wholefoods in the heart of Kemptown village.

All the fruit and vegetables are sourced carefully and locally where possible to ensure that the taste and flavor are excellent. To ensue freshness and variety there are regular deliveries from a local wholesaler T.G Fruits, Spitalfields and from farms in Sussex and Kent.

We focus on having a wide range of fruit and vegetables including rare or unusual varieties. Highpoints in the year include the first English asparagus arriving in April, the first English strawberries in May and the rare apples and pears in September. Customer favourite’s include sprout tops at Christmas, olives and char grilled artichokes, homemade pasta sauces and Remeo ice cream.

The shop is a delight for vegetarians and vegans as the combination of high quality fruit, vegetables and wholefoods inspires you to cook.

If you are a meat eater many customers choose to combine a visit to Ricci’s Grocery with a visit to Brampton’s butcher just over the road. This can mean you never need to go to a supermarket again.

There is minimum packaging for most goods so you are not taking home lots of plastic just brown paper bags that you can recycle.

Our staff are friendly and knowledgeable so please ask them if you need advice or guidance.

Silvano Ricci bought the shop in 2015 when it was an established business with an excellent reputation. At this time the shop was known as “ Proto into Europe” and had been run by the same family for 20+ years.

Since 2015 Silvano has worked to enhance the shop introducing produce from Ricci’s Deli at the Seven Dials.
